Lei Zheng Long, deputy director of National Health Commission CDC and first-class inspector, said that according to the deployment of joint prevention and control mechanism in the State Council, we continue to guide all localities to actively and steadily do a good job in COVID-19 vaccination. As of July 7th, the total number of vaccinations in COVID-19 has been reported to be 3,465.57 million times, and the total number of people vaccinated has reached 1,295.626 million, and 1,261.908 million people have been vaccinated, accounting for 91.9% and 89.51% of the total population in China respectively. 793.279 million people received intensive immunization, including 42.29 million people who received sequential intensive immunization. The coverage of the elderly over 60 years old reached 234,028,800, and 221,218,000 people were vaccinated, accounting for 88.64% and 83.78% of the elderly population respectively. 173.483 million people have completed intensive immunization.

At present, the vaccination work in COVID-19 is progressing smoothly on the whole. The vaccination coverage rate of people over 60 years old in six provinces, including Shandong, Tibet, Jiangxi, Anhui, Shaanxi and Guangdong, has exceeded 91%. However, the vaccination progress in some provinces is still slow, and further efforts are needed.
