  The 4.5-magnitude earthquake occurred in Shimian County, Ya ‘an City, Sichuan Province, with a focal depth of 11 kilometers. The epicenter was located at 29.42 degrees north latitude and 102.16 degrees east longitude.

  It is understood that there are Fangjiashan, Dani Village, Caoke Village, tuanjie village, Nongjia Village, Xinhua Village, Youai Village, Aiguo Village, Guanghua Village and Duiwoping in the villages within 5 kilometers, and there are Caoke Tibetan Township and Xinmin Tibetan Yi Township within 20 kilometers. The epicenter was 29 kilometers from Shimian County, 48 kilometers from Hanyuan County, 55 kilometers from Luding County, 67 kilometers from kangding city, 78 kilometers from Yingjing County, 73 kilometers from Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture and 230 kilometers from Chengdu. The average elevation within 5 kilometers of the epicenter is about 1707 meters.

  According to the catalogue of China Seismic Network Express, there have been 98 earthquakes of magnitude 3 or above within 200 kilometers around the epicenter in the past five years, and the largest earthquake occurred in Luding County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province on September 5, 2022 (20 kilometers away from this epicenter).
