The 7th World Congress of Chinese Mathematicians was held to award Morningside Mathematics Prize and other awards.

        The 7th Global Congress of Chinese Mathematicians kicked off in the Great Hall of the People today (6th), and the conference awarded Morningside Mathematics Award and other awards. The winners of Chenxing Mathematics Gold Award are Zhang Wei and Li Si; The winner of Chenxing Applied Mathematics Gold Award is Yin Wotao; The winners of Chenxing Mathematics Silver Award are Chen Binglong, Lan Kaiwen, Lei Leming, Yin Jun, Ying Lexing and Yun Zhiwei; The winners of Chen Shengshen Award are Zhu Xiping and Chen Qizong; The winner of ICCM International Cooperation Award is enquist.

        These awards are aimed at encouraging Chinese mathematicians who have made outstanding achievements in the field of mathematics and those who have made important contributions to the development of mathematics in China. Among them, Morningstar Mathematics Award is known as "Chinese Fields Award", which is set up for Chinese mathematicians under 45 who have made outstanding achievements in basic mathematics, applied mathematics and computational mathematics. The judging committee is composed of Professor Qiu Chengtong and several top non-Chinese mathematicians to ensure the level of award-winning achievements and the fairness and objectivity of the award-winning process. Successive award-winning scholars have been praised by the international mathematics community.

        The 7th International Congress of Chinese Mathematicians, co-sponsored by the Institute of Mathematics and Systems Science of China Academy of Sciences, Morningside Mathematics Center of China Academy of Sciences and Tsinghua University, will last from 6th to 11th. During the conference, eight outstanding mathematicians will be invited to give Morningside lectures, more than 30 mathematicians will give one-hour lectures and more than 100 mathematicians will give special lectures. Academic reports will be given in Tsinghua University and Zhongguancun Campus of Chinese Academy of Sciences.

        The World Congress of Chinese Mathematicians was initiated by Qiu Chengtong, a famous mathematician and professor of Harvard University. It was held in Beijing for the first time in 1998 and has been held every three years since then.

        The World Congress of Chinese Mathematicians has built a high-end communication platform for Chinese mathematicians, which enriches the communication between Chinese mathematicians, helps domestic mathematicians to understand the most advanced mathematical development in the world today, and also enhances the international status of Chinese mathematicians.
